What We Do

Design concept and budget development

Probably the most important stage of any project where we gather a detailed brief and gain the clients trust by way of developing a concept design that both answers the brief and brings some alternative solutions to the table. Primarily the concept is presented in sketch format both as plans and 3 dimensional sketches. Initial ideas for finishes, furnishings and fixtures are presented in a loose format. Once a concept is agreed upon we use a template to formulate an appropriate scope of works for one of our building professionals to calculate a realistic budget estimate for the project as a whole.

Design development and documentation

Once a budget is agreed upon, we then have the parameters to further refine the overall design and look at the detail we can apply to the finishes and bespoke fittings and fixtures. We also consider at this stage bringing in other design professionals as required to assist with any engineering aspects of the project along with any other disciplines required.

We pride ourselves on documenting each and every scheme to a high level. Ensuring every detail is resolved assists greatly with a competitive tender process and the formulation of a contract price that includes every aspect and detail of the project

Implementation of the agreed design

Our services extend to working with the various trades on site and design professionals involved to see the project on paper realised as a finished product. Once a building professional is appointed, we become the intermediary between the client and the myriad of trades, consultants and suppliers involved in getting the project to the finish line.

Co-ordination of certification and Australian building regulations

On most projects there will be a degree of prescribed regulations that have to be adhered to and the co-ordination of authorities to approve the design against those regulations. We assist with this process and advise on professional bodies required to get approvals in place.

Furniture and soft furnishings and artwork (specifically for residential)

We offer this as a separate service as the requirements in this section differ vastly from project to project. All schemes will require some degree of furniture and artwork assessment and advice in terms of retaining, refurbishing, selling or renewing. We can curate a completely new scheme for any project or improve on an already existing inventory of furnishings.

Space analysis and test fits

Particularly important for tenanted spaces in the workplace and hospitality sector. We can assist with conducting space planning exercises based on a simple brief or a more detailed needs analysis to determine if short listed spaces are appropriate for the size and requirements of the company or business enterprise.

Needs Analysis

An important tool particularly for businesses experiencing growth or cultural change to use for the assessment of accommodation needs. We have a template we employ to gather a detailed brief which in turn identifies key workplace strategies that could be employed, and the space required to accommodate such strategies.
